FGCU Library

Welcome to the FGCU Library Guide for Nursing

The mission of FGCU Library is to serve users at their point of need by collecting, conserving, and communicating information that supports the current and future teaching, research, and service needs of students, faculty, and staff, and supports the university’s role in regional development.

This research guide is intended to serve as a starting point for users researching within the discipline of Nursing. It is intended to reflect current curriculum needs at Florida Gulf Coast University, which means not all areas of Nursing research will be represented equally. This is not intended to reflect the importance of any given research interest. As the curriculum changes, the scope of this guide will change, as well.

The content of the guide primarily reflects the resources available through the FGCU Library. Electronic resources such as databases and e-books may only be accessed by current FGCU students, staff, faculty, and emeritus faculty. General collection books may be checked out by currect FGCU students, staff, faculty, emeritus faculty, and community users within the counties of Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee. All materials may be used onsite by members of the public.

For more information about accessing FGCU materials, please see the circulation policies HERE. Inclusion of publicly accessible materials such as those found on the Websites & Archives page is not an endorsement but is meant to guide researchers to possible resources of use.

Any comments or questions may be directed to the Health and Human Services Librarian.

By using this guide, students and faculty will learn how to identify and locate books, e-books, peer-reviewed articles, and streaming videos for research purposes.  They will also be able to distinguish and cite ethically quality research for their research needs.
